Does Podhigai Nursery provide forestry support for farmers?

Yes, Podhigai Nursery supports farmers interested in commercial forestry through clonal plant supply and plantation-related services. Our work focuses on Casuarina and Eucalyptus plantations grown for pulp-wood production. We help farmers enquire about suitable planting material and services based on their land and plantation requirements.

Choosing the right plants is an important first step. Soil conditions, rainfall, water availability, spacing and the intended harvesting period can all affect plantation performance. Farmers should consider these factors before investing in a commercial forestry project.

Podhigai Nursery supplies selected clonal Casuarina varieties, including CH 1, CH 2, CH 3, CH 4, CH 5 and CJ 9, along with clonal Eucalyptus planting material, including EC-6, subject to availability. Visit our Clonal Casuarina Nursery and Clonal Pulp Wood Nursery pages to learn more.

We also provide farm management and pulp-wood harvesting services. You can find further information on our Farm Management and Harvesting Service pages.
